I got this carrier shortly after my son was born. He was colicky and I was exhausted from holding him constantly. The first carrier I tried was the (very pretty) MAYA WRAP Lightly Padded Baby Ring Sling Carrier (MEDIUM - BRIGHT STRIPE) . Though I was a bit disappointed. I love the fabric design/color but wearing this carrier I felt lopsided, as though I always needed to support my baby with my arm. It also gave me a neck ache. Perhaps I was wearing the sling wrong. If so, I never could seem to get the hang of it. Back to the Ergo though. After ordering, I received the Evening In Innsbruck carrier and the silver infant insert right away from Amazon. It's a pretty, fairly neutral design and I like the sleek fabric. It doesn't catch and bunch up my shirt like the sling tended to. With my husband as a my helper/spotter I was able to get the carrier on within a few minutes of figuring & adjusting. After the first time it was quite easy. My son wasn't thrilled with it at first but after a few minutes he came around. He loved being able to see things and being close to me. I think the bounce when I walked was soothing for him as well. I had really hoped to use this carrier to get more things done, especially house work. Unfortunately It hasn't been great for that... at least not for me. I'm not sure any front carrier would really be all that helpful though. I find it cumbersome to bend forward & climb stairs with it. Beyond that, once my son grew too large for the infant insert, he wanted nothing to do with the carrier (months 5-8ish). I think his legs were uncomfortable in it and he wasn't able to see as much since he was then sitting lower. Now at 10 months he's happy to be back in it. He's large enough to see out the top and look around and his legs seem to fit in it better. Although my little guy wasn't loving it for a bit I am still glad I got it. He's back to loving it and It's nice to be able to carry him and have my hands free. I think the carrier is great for shopping, taking walks & light chores.

This carrier rocks my world!I am a busy mother of five and I have tried a LOT of baby carriers- My Baby Nest Organic Baby Carrier, Misty Blue, Small , BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Original - Black, Classic , BabyHawk Mei Tai Baby Carrier, Sophia Black , Moby Wrap Designs Baby Carrier, Owl , Infantino Swift Classic Carrier Black just to name a few, but the Ergo has a leg up on all of them. Everything about this carrier is functional yet still stylish. The product arrives quickly and was in its original store box (which was also cute and had a little fabric handle, so my daughter now totes it around like her "briefcase" :)) nestled inside of a protective Amazon box. I ordered the Petunia Pickle Bottom Organic "evening in Innsbruck" and it is even more gorgeous in person than online!! In the past I have primarily used the baby Bjorn to tote my babies around, but they all outgrew it before three months old even though the carrier is supposed to technically carry them to much larger. My youngest baby would take five-ten minutes just to settle down once in the Bjorn, I would bounce, jounce, and try to get him to take his Paci until he'd finally be consoled just enough to fall asleep. However upon waking he'd immediately be upset again. The Ergo has been a polar opposite experience- it came with a simple easy to understand instruction booklet and I had it adjusted to my body and baby strapped in within five minutes of opening the box. The best part? Baby boy gave me a full eye sparkle smile once I had him nestled in, and remained delighted even hours later. :) It felt like was suddenly weightless and I never experienced any back pain, even after sweeping and mopping my entire house with baby attached. This is one happy Mama! I am already planning hikes in my immediate future!

I love this carrier and the beautiful patterns it comes in. I like that "Evening in Innsbruck" is beautiful without being too feminine. I wanted my husband to at least be willing to carry the baby around in this. It is high quality, will protect baby in the rain (a must in Seattle), and almost always puts my child to sleep when I go for a walk.

I tell other new moms that this is a "must-have" item.

I am a little worried (based on other peoples' reviews) that this item could be a fake but I don't really know. I will be doing more research in the future.

The ergo is a great baby carrier. I also used the Moby and the Sakura sling when my baby was a newborn. But after six months, I exclusively use the ergo. Mainly I use it when I walk my dog. I got this one because I love the pattern. It's gorgeous!! You will not be disappointed! It's feminine and elegant. Just a little different but still black. I love it. I live in Portland OR and EVERY mom seems to have an ergo. It's nice to have one that's more unique. Makes me feel a little more special when I'm wearing my baby!

The only thing I was concerned with is the pocket. I noticed that regular Ergos have a separate front pocket with a zipper. This ergo does not have that separate front pocket. However, there is a front pocket where with hood is stored. It's not big, but I can put my keys and iPhone in it.

I also got the matching Ergo organic backpack in black. Matches perfectly. I love that the backpack attaches to the ergo for when you use the ergo with the baby on your back, ie-for hiking. I also used the backpack as my purse when I went out with the ergo. It is comfortable to wear the ergo and have the backpack over one shoulder.

This is a wonderful carrier. We don't use it as much as I thought we would, but when we need it it's great to have. We used it to travel across the country with our 9 month old daughter and it was nice that I was able to carry her and have my hands free while we were in the airports. Nice heavy duty fabric. The pattern is beautiful. Even more lovely than the pictures online. Every time we use it we receive compliments on the pattern.

Love this pack! Used it to its max capacity and it never failed me! I hiked with it, carrying my 5 year old until last year! I've purchased them for baby gifts for years! This is a top notch product!
